The Romanian Patriarchate has learned with much sorrow of the terrorist attack, which took place on 12 January 2016 in the historical center of the capital city of Turkey, Istanbul, and caused the death of ten innocent people and injuries to other 15 persons.
We pray the All-Merciful God to rest in His peace and love the souls of the deceased and to grant healing to the wounded. Furthermore, we express our compassion and solidarity towards the bereaved families.
In the pluralistic world of today, people have to live together in harmony and cooperation for the common benefit, and to respect the dignity and the values of each person, irrespective of their ethnicity or religion.
