Ambassador of Bosnia and Herzegovina to Romania on an Presentation Visit to the Romanian Patriarchate

On 1 March 2016, His Beatitude Patriarch Daniel received His Excellency Mr Mile Vasić, Ambassador of Bosnia and Herzegovina to Romania, on a presentation visit.

Mr Ambassador expressed his gratitude to have been received at the Romanian Patriarchate and made a brief statistic presentation of the religious configuration of his country, which has overcome the difficult period of its recent history.

His Beatitude Patriarch Daniel congratulated the new ambassador of Bosnia and Herzegovina to Romania at the beginning of his diplomatic mission in Romania and urged him to visit Orthodox churches and monasteries of our country to better know the life and activity of the Romanian Orthodox Church. Then, the Patriarch of Romania underlined the difficult common history of the peoples of the Balkans and the challenges of the contemporary society passing through a secularisation process which affects first of all the young generations.

His Beatitude has also underlined the necessity for a better cooperation between the two peoples situated in the same geographic area and mentioned the possible extension of the pilgrimages organised by Basilica Travel Pilgrimage Agency of the Romanian Patriarchate to the Balkan Peninsula and to religious sites in Bosnia and Herzegovina for better mutual knowing.
