Orthodox Youth chanted Carols in front of the Patriarch of Romania

Tuesday, 15 December 2015, at the Patriarchal Residence, young members of the Romanian Christian Orthodox Students’ Association of Bucharest, of the Romanian Christian Orthodox Theologians’ League of Bucharest, as well as students of the Orthodox Theologian Students’ Association sung several carols in front of His Beatitude Patriarch Daniel.

The Patriarch of Romania delivered a speech in which he told the young people that their actions are missionary and designed to bring light and joy.

“Peace and joy and the observation of our Christian traditions are badly needed in a very troubled world. It is a great joy and blessing for us to see our spiritual values conveyed every year not only in the church, inside the church building, but also outside, from house to house and from street to street. These chants bring mainly relief to the sick that are suffering, joy to the distressed, comfort to the lonely. Thus, singing and Christmas carols are one more aspect of the social mission. You bring to God the joy of learning the chants, the joy to conveying the faith and the great message of the Nativity of the Lord, namely that God loves us, and we answer to His love through chants and generosity”, His Beatitude said.

The young carol singers were rewarded with presents according to tradition.
