We were deeply saddened to learn of the tragedy in Rome, where the collapse of the historic Torre dei Conti resulted in the death of Romanian worker Octav Stroici and injured several others who were working at the site.
In these moments of hardship, the Romanian Patriarchate expresses its solidarity and compassion for those who have suffered as a result of this tragic event and for their families.
We also extend our gratitude to the local authorities who acted promptly to rescue all those affected.
We pray for the repose of the soul of the servant of God, Octav Stroici, for the recovery of the injured, and for the comfort of the grieving families.
