Romania’s National Cathedral announces liturgical schedule for St Andrew’s feast and National Day

On the feast of Saint Andrew the First-Called, Protector of Romania and of the National Cathedral (November 30), and on Romania’s National Day (December 1), the services at the National Cathedral will take place according to the following schedule:

On 30 November 2025, from 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m., the Midnight Office, Matins and the Hours will be officiated. This will be followed by the Hierarchical Divine Liturgy from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. All services will take place inside the National Cathedral. Starting at 7:00 a.m., admission will be free for all faithful who wish to participate. Seating will be allocated in the order of arrival.

The reliquary containing the holy relics of Saint Andrew the Apostle, together with its baldachin, will be brought out for veneration starting at 7:00 a.m. They will be placed in the open porch of the National Cathedral, where the mosaic icon of Saint Andrew is located. They will remain there until 7:00 p.m. At that time, they will be returned inside the Cathedral.

On 1 December 2025, Romania’s National Day, a Te Deum (thanksgiving service) will be held at 12:00 p.m. at the National Cathedral.

The service will be officiated by His Grace Patriarchal Auxiliary Bishop Paisie of Sinaia, together with an assembly of priests and deacons.

Admission for the faithful will begin at 11:00 a.m., with seating available on a rolling basis. After the Te Deum, the Cathedral will remain open to pilgrims until 7:00 p.m.

The public is reminded that on 2 December 2025, the National Cathedral will be open for visiting from 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.

Between 3 and 23 December 2025, the Cathedral will be closed to allow continuation of interior works.
