Committees of the National Church Assembly

For the study of problems and the formulation of proposals to be submitted for deliberation, the National Church Assembly elects, at the beginning of each 4-year term, from among its clerical and lay members, 5 permanent working commissions, each of which has a chairman, vice-chairman and rapporteur appointed by the plenary, on the proposal of the President.

The committees of the National Church Assembly are:

  • Administrative-Legal and Validation Committee;
  • Social and Media Communications Committee;
  • Cultural and Educational Committee;
  • Economic, budgetary and real estate (church property) Commission;
  • Commission for Orthodox Romanians Abroad and for External Church Relations.

Clerical and lay representatives of Romanian Orthodox dioceses abroad may also be invited to the work of the Committee for Orthodox Romanians Abroad and for Foreign Church Relations, when the agenda so requires. At the convocation of the President, the committees of the National Ecclesiastical Assembly may also meet between its sessions, as required (Art. 23 of the Statute).
