We have learned with great concern about the aggravated health conditions of His Majesty King Michael I of Romania, a symbolic personality of the history of the Romanian people and of our national dignity.
Therefore, we pray God, the Physician of the souls and bodies, to relieve his suffering and grant him good health.
At the same time, we urge everyone who cherish the personality of His Majesty to send up prayers, together with the royal family, for his recovery.

Through the Royal Council, HM King Michel I announced on Wednesday, 2 March 2016, he was retiring from public life due to the fact he was diagnosed with chronic leukemia and epidermoid carcinoma metastases, which requires a long-term treatment.
“In recent weeks, I have received the news of a serious medical diagnosis. This comes in the year when my Family and Country are celebrating 150 years since the founding of the Dynasty and of the modern Romanian state. I am sure that my daughter, Margaret, the custodian of the Crown, will find the wisdom and the strength to represent me and to accomplish all my public actions. I have asked the Royal Council to continue its mission and to provide its advice to the Custodian of the Crown”, HM King Michael I said, as reported to the official website of the Royal Family.
