Health and salvation are the greatest gifts that a man can have
In his sermon, His Beatitude Patriarch Daniel addressed to the persons present referring to the importance of health and salvation.
We have the joy of receiving you in the Patriarchal Residence to express our gratitude and appreciation for your activity. As well known, health and salvation are the greatest gifts that a man can have. Therefore the Church prays for the health and the salvation of people. Health is the perfect state of our life, salvation is the union of the human being with God and the acquisition of eternal life. This earthly life is a preparation period for eternal life, while the healings of the sick made by Jesus Christ, Our Savior, are signs of a total healing of the entire humanity that will take place at the end of times.
The Patriarch of Romania has also spoken about the importance of the protocol for cooperation signed between the Romanian Ministry of Health and the Romanian Patriarchate:
This cooperation between science and faith, medicine and Church is something normal, and for this reason we want to express our gratitude for your presence here, and especially to express the joy of a good cooperation between the Romanian Patriarchate and the Ministry of Health. We have two large programms ongoing: Donate blood. Save a life and Health for villages. Nowadays is important to reach out to the sick and not let them alone to come to us.
