Fathers Confessors Licensed At The Historical Chapel Of The Patriarchal Residence

Today, 10 June 2015, eleven priests of the Archdiocese of Bucharest were licensed fathers confessors. The religious service was celebrated by the Patriarch of Romania in the historical chapel of “Saint Great Martyr George” of the Patriarchal Residence, after the clergy passed the proper examination.

The Sacrament of the Holy Confession is the mystery of spiritual growth

After the celebration, His Beatitude Patriarch Daniel spoke about the responsibility of the father confessor’s service.

“The service of the father confessor is a great responsibility, as well as a work necessary for the spiritual growth of the children of the Church. The father confessor is the one who not only absolves from sins, but also guides the faithful on the way of salvation. This guidance of the faithful on the way of salvation is badly needed because it is the application of faith in the concrete life of the person. The mystery of the Holy Confession is the mystery of the spiritual growth. This a great responsibility, as well as a special gift because God inspires the father confessor to advise, guide, and make light in the life of the one who fights to get rid of sins and passions, and to grow spiritually too”, His Beatitude explained according to Trinitas Radio station.

The new fathers confessors received the certificates on behalf of His Beatitude Patriarch Daniel, a blessing cross, as well as the new edition of the Molitfelnic book.

The examination for fathers confessors is organised several times a year.
