Gifts for the Children within the Settlement of Saint Hierarch Leontius of Rădăuţi

Friday, 7 November 2015, His Beatitude Daniel, Patriarch of the Romanian Orthodox Church visited the children hosted in the Settlement of Saint Hierarch Leontius of Rădăuţi. On this occasion, His Beatitude offered them clothes, toys and sweets.

The children met the Primate of the Romanian Orthodox Church with much enthusiasm; they said a few payers and sang religious songs, in the presence of His Beatitude.

His Beatitude Patriarch Daniel congratulated and blessed the little children from the social protection institution of Rădăuţi.

At end of the Divine Liturgy celebrated today at the Monastery of the Presentation of the Mother of God in the Church, the Patriarch of Romania offered, on behalf of the Romanian Patriarchate and of the Archdiocese of Bucharest, a financial aid for the Children’s Settlement of Rădăuţi, an institution that provides social services to 163 disfavoured children.

Children’s Settlement of Saint Hierarch Leontius is a social service which provides a stable environment and good integrated services to the children enrolled in this institution, for reintegrating them in the family, or, as needed, for social-professional reintegration and preparation for independent life. The purpose of the Settlement is to temporary – or as long as necessary – replace the parental responsibilities when the circumstances do not allow the reintegration of the child in the natural or in the extended family. The target group of the social service consists of disadvantaged children (orphans, with no material means of living, as well as children coming from disorganised families) aged from 3–18, and living in Suceava county.
