Patriarch of Romania: “The Holy Fire is the peaceful and joyful gift granted by Jesus Christ to the clergy and the faithful as a proof of His love”

His Beatitude Daniel, Patriarch of Romania, welcomed Saturday, April 30, 2016 at the Patriarchal Cathedral the Holy Fire (Light) from the Church of the Holy Sepulchre in Jerusalem. The Assistant Bishops to the Patriarch, Their Graces Varlaam of Ploiești and Ieronim of Sinaia, were also present. The Holy Fire was brought to Romania by a delegation of our Church led by His Grace Timotei of Prahova, Assistant Bishop to the Archdiocese of Bucharest.

The Holy Fire is the confirmation of the truth of the Resurrection of our Saviour Jesus Christ, His Beatitude said, noting that at the same time it is a gift that brings joy to the faithful, to the people who believe in Jesus Christ and love Him.

The Holy Fire will be offered to the clergy and the faithful who will be present at the Patriarchal Cathedral, this evening, at the midnight office of the Resurrection of the Lord.
