The Ambassador of Greece visits the Romanian Patriarchate

His Beatitude Daniel, the Romanian Patriarch, received on Thursday, 11 February 2016, at the Patriarchal Residency, the visit of His Excellency Mr. Grigorios Vassiloconstandakis, the Ambassador of Greece in Romania.

Subjects related to the life of the Romanian Orthodox Church as well as aspects regarding the relation between the two Orthodox sister Churches were discussed during the meeting.

The ambassador of Greece requested the blessing of the Romanian Patriarch at the beginning of a new year, 2016, and he has appreciated the good cooperation between the Romanian Orthodox Church and the Greek Orthodox Church.

I had the honour to be received by His Beatitude Patriarch Daniel and I have requested him his blessing because, as you know, for us, Orthodox Christians, the blessing of a hierarch, at the beginning of the year, is an extremely important matter. His Beatitude presented some aspects regarding the life of the Romanian Orthodox Church, aspects regarding the preparation for the Holy and Great Synod of the Orthodox Church. Also, I had the opportunity to present some details regarding the life of the Greek Orthodox Church and we have together reached that the relations of the two churches have improved and continue to improve each day. We wish this cooperation to be more fruitful and more promising in the future”.
