The Patriarch of Romania has arrived to Geneva

His Beatitude Daniel, Patriarch of Romania, has arrived this morning, 22 January 2016, to Geneva, Switzerland. From 22 to 28 January 2016, at the Orthodox Centre of the Ecumenical Patriarchate of Chambésy, Geneva, will take place the Synaxis of the Primates of the Orthodox Churches.

During this Synaxis, the Primates of the Orthodox Churches will discuss the details regarding the convocation and the agenda of the Holy and Great Synod of the Orthodox Church that is to be held in June, later this year.

The works of the Synaxis will begin by a common prayer held at 15.00 p.m. (16.00 p.m. Romanian time) at the St Paul stavropegic Church. Next, the Chairman of the Synaxis His Holiness Bartholomew, Ecumenical Patriarch of Constantinople, will deliver the opening speech.

After that, the other Primates of the Orthodox Churches will deliver their speeches, in the diptychs order.

To be noted that Patriarch John X of Antioch, Metropolitan Sawa of Poland and Archbishop Hieronymos II of Athens and all Greece will not personally attend the Synaxis of the Orthodox Primates in Geneva.
