BIOGRAPHICAL DATA

• He was born on 11 May 1958, in Paris, France. He was baptized Marc.

FORMATION AND PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

• 1965-1975 – attended primary, secondary and high school at the “Massillon” College in Paris (France);
• 1975-1981 – studied at the Faculty of Architecture in Paris (France);
• 1977-1980 – studies at the Paris Institute of Urban Planning, University of “Paris VIII” (France);
• 25 January 1987 – received into Orthodoxy, under the jurisdiction of the Romanian Orthodox Church;
• 1991 – he was received into the Monastery of Sihăstria, Neamț County, and in March 1992 he was transferred to the Monastery of Saints Three Hierarchs in Jassy;
• 6 September 1992 – he was tonsured into monasticism at Sihăstria Monastery, Neamț County;
• 9 September 1992 – he was ordained hierodeacon by His Eminence Daniel, Metropolitan of Moldavia and Bucovina, at the Sihăstria Monastery;
• 20 August 1994 – he was ordained hieromonk by His Eminence Daniel, Metropolitan of Moldavia and Bucovina, fulfilling various offices in the Metropolis of Moldavia and Bucovina;
• 1995 – Graduated from the Faculty of Orthodox Theology “Dumitru Stăniloae” at the “Alexandru Ioan Cuza” University of Jassy;
• 1996 – returns to France, working as a missionary priest in the parishes of Gherman and St. Clodoald in Louveciennes (1996-1997) and in the monastery of St. Silouan in Saint-Mars-en-Locquenay;
• April 2003 – appointed parish priest of the Romanian Orthodox Parish of Joseph in Bordeaux (France);
• 3 March 2005 – elected by the Holy Synod of the Romanian Orthodox Church as Assistant-Bishop of the Romanian Orthodox Archdiocese of Western Europe;
• 7 May 2005 – ordained Assistant-Bishop of the Romanian Orthodox Archdiocese of Western Europe by His Eminence Daniel, Metropolitan of Moldavia and Bucovina, at the Metropolitan Cathedral of Saints Archangels Michael, Gabriel and Raphael in Paris.
