BIOGRAPHICAL DATA

  • He was born on 9 September 1970, son of Teodor and Maria Mic, in Arad, Arad County. He received the baptism name of Lucian.

 

EDUCATION AND PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

  • 1977-1985 – attends Secondary School No. 10 in Arad;
  • 1985-1987 – pupil at “Moise Nicoară” Theoretical High School in Arad;
  • 1987-1992 – pupil at the Orthodox Theological High School Seminary “Episcop Ioan Popasu” in Caransebeș, Caraș-Severin County;
  • 14 August 1991 – he is tonsured as a rasophore at Hodoș-Bodrog Monastery, Arad County;
  • 24 July 1992 – is ordained deacon by His Grace Archbishop Emilian Arădeanul, Assistant-Bishop of the Diocese of Arad, and on 25 July 1992 he is ordained a priest at the Hodoș-Bodrog Monastery in the Archdiocese of Arad, by His Grace Timotei Seviciu, Bishop of Arad;
  • 1 August 1992 – 1 January 1994 – is priest at the Hodoș-Bodrog Monastery in the Archdiocese of Arad;
  • 1992-1996 – studies at the Faculty of Orthodox Theology in Arad;
  • 1 September 1994 – 1 July 1995 – priest at the Metropolitan Cathedral in Timișoara;
  • 1 July 1995 – 1 October 2000 – is abbot of the Izvorul Miron – Românești Monastery, Timiș County;
  • 5 December 1998 – is tonsured a monk;
  • December 1999 – is elevated to the rank of protosyncellus;
  • 1 December 1999 – 30 September 2000 – exarch of the monasteries of the Archdiocese of Timișoara;
  • 30 January 2000 – is elevated to the rank of archimandrite;
  • 12 September 2000 – is elected by the Holy Synod of the Romanian Orthodox Church as Assistant-Bishop of the Archdiocese of Timișoara, being ordained on 1 October 2000;
  • 2001-2004 – attends postgraduate courses at the Faculty of Orthodox Theology of the University of Oradea;
  • 2001-2005 – is a lecturer for the courses Patrology and Spiritual Formation at the Theology Department of the West University of Timișoara;
  • 8 February 2006 – is elected Bishop of Caransebeș by the Holy Synod of the Romanian Orthodox Church, being enthroned on 26 February 2006;
  • 2006-2013 – is a lecturer for the courses Patrology and Liturgical Theology at the Theology Department in Caransebeș;
  • 2009-2012 – attends doctoral courses at the Faculty of Orthodox Theology of the University of Craiova;
  • 2012-2014 – lecturer for the course Universal Church History at the Faculty of Orthodox Theology “Ilarion V. Felea” in Arad;
  • 2013 – defends his doctoral thesis at the Faculty of Theology of the University of Craiova, entitled: Relaţiile Bisericii Ortodoxe Române din Banat cu Biserica Ortodoxă Sârbă în a doua jumătate a secolului al XIX-lea (The Relations of the Romanian Orthodox Church in Banat with the Serbian Orthodox Church in the Second Half of the 19th Century);
  • 2014-2020 – is an Associate Professor for the courses Patrology and History of the Universal Church at the Theology Department in Caransebeș.
