BIOGRAPHICAL DATA

• He was born on 11 June 1983, son of Marinela and Ion Dinculeană, in Craiova, Dolj County. He was baptized Dumitru Cristian.

TRAINING AND PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

• 1998-2002 – Pupil at “Petrache Trișcu” High School in Craiova, Dolj County;
• 2003-2007 – attends undergraduate studies at the Faculty of Orthodox Theology in Craiova, defending a thesis entitled The High Priestly Prayer of the Saviour, under the guidance of Prof. Dionisie Stamatoiu;
• 2006-2009 – 2006-2009 – fulfils the task of secretary of the office of His Grace Gurie Gorjanul, Assistant-Bishop of the Archdiocese of Craiova;
• 2007 – he joins monastic life at the Monastery of Great Martyr Demetrius, the Myrrh-Streamer, Metropolitan Cathedral of Craiova;
• 8 October 2007 – ordained deacon by His Grace Gurie Gorjanul, Assistant-Bishop of the Archdiocese of Craiova;
• 2007-2009 – he attends MA courses at the Faculty of Orthodox Theology in Craiova, finalized by the completion of his thesis entitled Monasticism as an Exit from the World and Urban Monasticism, under the guidance of Prof. Dr. Picu Ocoleanu;
• 2009 – was tonsured into monasticism by His Grace Gurie, Bishop of Deva and Hunedoara;
• 2009-2012 – fulfils the task of diocesan secretary of the Diocese of Deva and Hunedoara and secretary of the office of His Grace Gurie Georgiu, Bishop of Deva and Hunedoara;
• 2011-2014 – attends doctoral courses at the Faculty of Orthodox Theology at the University “1 Decembrie 1918”, Alba Iulia, where he graduated after having publicly defending his dissertation Cultic Priesthood in the Canaanite and Biblical Jewish People, under the guidance of Rev. Prof. Dr. Emil Jurcan;
• 20 March 2011 – is ordained hieromonk by His Grace Gurie, Bishop of Deva and Hunedoara;
• 17 April 2011 – elevated to the rank of protosyncellus by His Grace Gurie, Bishop of Deva and Hunedoara;
• 2013-2018 – holds the dignity of administrative and ecclesiastical counsellor at the Diocesan Centre of the Diocese of Deva and Hunedoara;
• 2013-2019 – fulfils the duty of ecclesiastical ecclesiarch of the Episcopal Cathedral of Deva;
• 13 September 2014 – is elevated to the rank of archimandrite by His Grace Gurie, Bishop of Deva and Hunedoara;
• 2018-2021 – holds the dignity of diocesan administrative vicar of the Diocese of Deva and Hunedoara;
• 25 February 2021 – is elected by the Holy Synod of the Romanian Orthodox Church as Assistant-Bishop of the Diocese of Deva and Hunedoara, with the title of Hunedoara (Hunedoreanul), being ordained and installed on 7 March 2021, by His Eminence Laurențiu Streza, Metropolitan of Transylvania (Ardeal), together with several hierarchs;
• 16 December 2021 – is elected by the Holy Synod of the Romanian Orthodox Church as Bishop of Deva and Hunedoara, being enthroned on 26 December 2021.
